HODA TAHERI, born 1992, in Teheran/ Iran, resides in Berlin, is an Iranian Filmmaker. She started her artistic career by designing posters and other graphic materials for Iranian films and video arts. In 2014 she acted in a short film called Sweet Gin & Cold Wine by AMIN MAHER. In 2015 she co-wrote and acted in Orange another short film by AMIN MAHER. These short films were screened in several film festivals around the world included Oldenburg International Film festival in Germany, Mediawave International Visual Art Foundation in Hungary and many others.
In 2016 TAHERI directed her first feature film titled One Window Will Suffice. This film is a bold, feminist and sensitive statement about women’s inner life in Iran and was released from the Chichester International Film Festival in the UK. In the same year, she recieved her bachelor degree in visual communication from Limkokwing University in Malaysia.
In 2018 she started to make her second film titled Jonah in Germany. Jonah is a Documentary about an Iranian Christian couple who face a series of unpredictable happenings in their asylum procedure while they struggle to get the right to stay in Germany.
